For best results, use two coats on lightly stained, porous and repaired surfaces. For heavily stained surfaces, we recommend applying a coat of primer such as KILZ 3® PREMIUM Primer.
Surface Preparation
The following steps are recommended for product performance.
- Use on properly prepared and previously painted or primed surfaces. Remove any loose or peeling paint and wash off dirt or grease with a non-soapy detergent or a TSP substitute. Rinse well and allow surface to dry.
- Countersink all nailheads, repair imperfections and sand smooth.
- Glossy surfaces must be scuff sanded with appropriate sandpaper prior to coating.
- Remove dust with a damp cloth and allow to dry.
- Allow new plaster to cure for 30 days before priming and painting.

Application
- 2 coats minimum required for new or uncoated surfaces.
- Use product when the surface and air temperatures are between 50-90°F.
- Stir paint occasionally. Intermix containers of the same product to ensure color and sheen uniformity.
- Use a high quality synthetic brush or 3/8"-1/2" synthetic roller. For heavily textured surfaces such as stucco, a 3/4" roller is recommended.
- Airless Spray -0.015" - 0.019" tip with 60 mesh filter.
- COVERAGE: up to 400 sq. ft. per gallon depending on the surface texture, porosity and the application method

First Aid
If you experience difficulty in breathing, leave the area to obtain fresh air. If continued difficulty is experienced, get medical assistance immediately. In case of eye contact, flush immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes and get medical attention; for skin, wash thoroughly with soap and water.
